Dr. Ihab Abutayyem is a German board-certified Specialist Anesthesiologist and Pain Specialist with advanced qualifications in anaesthesiology, intensive care medicine, emergency medicine, and special pain therapy. Currently appointed as Head of the Pain Therapy Department and Consultant Anaesthesiologist at Knappschaft Hospital Bottrop, with additional responsibilities in a private practice for integrative pain management in Bochum. Certification portfolio includes recognition in Intensive Care (2024), Special Pain Therapy (2024), and Emergency Medicine (2023), supported by over 500 CME credits accredited by the Chamber of Physicians Westfalen-Lippe Münster. Over a decade of progressive clinical experience includes consultant and specialist roles at leading academic and regional hospitals such as Bergmannsheil University Hospital Bochum, St. Marien Hospitals in Witten and Mü lheim, and previous long-term service at Knappschaft Hospitals. Practice spans perioperative, acute, and chronic pain management, with a multidisciplinary, patient- centered approach to care. Emergency medicine services have been continuously delivered since 2018 across institutions in Mü lheim an der Ruhr, combining in-hospital and prehospital critical care provision.
